Why I Created This

How I Got Here

I didn't start in philosophy.

I started in real life.

I was a confident person. I had direction. I understood how to move through the world. I was consciously aware that I've always shown up as a leader. But sometimes I show up somewhere, and someone or something else is already leading — and I'll let them lead, until they start leading me somewhere that isn't leading me toward my best intention.

Then life handed me something I didn't choose. And I understood, almost like a fear of life or death, that if I didn't meet this with real, conscious awareness, things could go badly. The way I had shown up consciously before wasn't going to be enough anymore. I was being forced to understand that I now had to become something different than I had been.

Postpartum. COVID.

A Note on the Shoulders This Stands On

No one builds alone. This curriculum draws from many streams — Hermetic philosophy, contemplative traditions, modern science, and the teachers who have kept ancient knowledge alive and accessible. I want to honor my own mentors directly: Billy Carson, whose work and teaching through the 4biddenknowledge Academy shaped my path profoundly, and Tiberius, whose guidance helped me see patterns in myself I had carried for years. Their mentorship is woven into how I think and how I built this.

And last but not least, Armand Diaz — the person who taught me about the stars. The sky had called to me since childhood, long before I had language for why. Armand gave that lifelong pull a structure and a language, and that gift sits quietly underneath every lesson in this curriculum that looks upward.

I name them not to borrow their authority, but to honor the lineage of ideas honestly — and to encourage you, as a discerning parent, to seek your own teachers, explore widely, question everything, and keep what rings true. That is exactly the skill this curriculum exists to grow in your child.

Week 0 · Before We Begin

Two Different Words, Two Different Jobs

Perspective is where you're standing. Perception is what your mind does with what you see from there.

We use these two words like they mean the same thing — but they don't. Getting them untangled now makes every Mirror Lesson that follows land more clearly.

PERSPECTIVE
"Where I'm standing"
If you sit behind the goal at a soccer game, you see one thing. Sit at midfield, you see something else. Same game. Different vantage point.
PERCEPTION
"What my mind makes of it"
Two people can sit in the exact same seat and still walk away with different stories about what happened — because their minds filled in the meaning differently.

You can change your perspective just by moving your body — walk to the other side of the room, and the view is different. Changing your perception is quieter work — it means noticing the meaning your mind is adding, and asking whether that's the only meaning available.

Correspondence

Your Inner World Shapes Your Outer World

What's happening inside us tends to reflect in what's around us. Our thoughts, emotional state, and energy don't stay invisible — they show up in how we speak, how we organize our space, and what we attract into our lives.

Built for Ages 8–12

Every lesson carries three layers in one: a core narrative for the main age range, a dashed teen box for older learners (14–17), and a parent & facilitator guide underneath — so one book grows with the whole family, not just one child.
